I don’t think that there is a specific statutory requirement to have extinguishers serviced at all, or if you do have them serviced a requirement for you to use an “accredited” person. However, you do have a general duty to keep premises and the things in them safe, and a duty relating to fire safety to have working extinguishers, fire exits etc. In addition, your insurance company will impose requirements which will affect your cover if you ignore them, and if you actually own the extinguishers it is likely that the manufacturer’s warranty will be affected if you attempt DIY maintenance.
