Can someone explain in inception the movie about projections and the dreamer?
The projections are the manifestations of the subconscious of members of the dream. They behave like white blood cells, attacking anything ‘foreign’ (ie, the dreamer or owner of that particular subconscious). Any unnatural behavior (such as Ariadne messing with the buildings and landscapes) will lead them to attack. Cobb’s projections of Mal were particularly troublesome because of the guilt he felt about her death. The memory tormented his waking conscious and his dreams, which was a huge weakness and liability for the team altogether, since his mind was unstable and likely to turn on them at any moment. The dreamer is simply the person whose mind the dream actually takes place in. This is the person who creates the dream world (not to be confused with the Architect, who designs and teaches it to the dreamer). The other people sharing the dream are in his mind.
