northern Indian food is not known to be diet friendly, it’s got lots of lovely cream sauces and oil and butter ~~~ but you can eat poppadoms, the big crispy round things, they aren’t too high in calories, and stick to “dry” curries, they have less cream than creamy onesl like Kormas. If you do eat a Korma curry and they are sooo good, try to get one made with yoghrt NOT cream. Indian food is my favourite in the whole world It is famtastic. South Indian food, to be honest, is much lighter. ,they steam most things, and lots of plain fresh herbs and vegetables and pulses. But south INdian food is rare in America. Try to have dal with no butter ( if you order in a restaurant, you can ask for low fat, they will use less oil and butter), and go for veg curries like carrot and courgette, and tomatos, instead of potatoes all the time. Fish curries, are good too- also try eating less of the rice, and more of the soups that you can get, or plain dal with the meal. Oh god now I want some.
