Can SQL Relay proxy multiple database users instead of using the same user for every session?

Yes. Set the authtier attribute of the instance tag in the sqlrelay.conf file to “database”. See Configuring SQL Relay for more information. SQL Relay does it very efficiently when used with Oracle 8i or greater and MySQL version 3.23.3 or greater. For Oracle, the database must be configured properly. See this document for step-by-step instructions. Oracle 8i or greater and MySQL version 3.23.3 or greater allow a process that is connected to the database to switch users without disconnecting from the database. When used with other databases, SQL Relay logs out and logs back in to the database whenever it needs to switch users.
