Offering students choices in fieldwork site selection is a main concern of students and OFI. Students choose their educational program, the kinds of skills they want to develop, and the type of fieldwork site at which they would like to be placed. However, allowing multiple interviews for over 600 enrolled students is not possible at this time. Instead, students have one interview at a time to increase the likelihood that they will interview at fieldwork sites they have indicated as preferences. Allowing one interview at a time also protects students with less work experience, and allows OFI to provide more individual attention to students. This process also ensures that all students get placed as soon as possible. If the student or field instructor believes that the match is not suitable, the student will have the opportunity to interview at another fieldwork site.
