Can taking too much Magnesium while pregnant be harmful to the babys development?

When you’re pregnant, magnesium helps build and repair your body tissue. A severe deficiency during pregnancy may lead to preeclampsia, birth defects, and infant mortality. During pregnancy you’ll need between 350 and 360 mg of magnesium daily, compared to the 310 to 320 mg recommended for nonpregnant or nursing women. You probably do not need to take a supplement. A healthy, varied diet should give you all the magnesium you need, although it is contained in some prenatal vitamin supplements. Cereals, rice and green vegetables are all good sources of Magnesium. Like all minerals you should not exceed the recommended dose as they may be toxic.
