Can the Dalai Lama be lying about who is really the 10th Panchen Lama?
Very interesting. Generally speaking I’d agree with “The Dalai’s” simple answer of “No, he doesn’t lie.” However, one can find in some of his writings an allowance for “little lie” or “kind lie” when it will cause less suffering. In this case the 10th Panchen Lama has suffered plenty, perhaps even lost his life. So I’m going to have to agree with “The Dalai” that the Dalai Lama did not mislead anyone when he identified the 10th Panchen Lama. The puppet 11th is unlikely to rule Tibet after His Holiness dies. First of all, the Chinese have already got an iron fist wrapped around Tibet and show no interest in loosening their grip. He’s a puppet and he’ll remain one. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual and governmental leader of Tibet, and the Tibetan Government In Exile is recognized by the international community as the legitimate government of occupied Tibet.
