Medroxyprogesterone is also used for reduction of pain in patients that have endometriosis or in patients that have metastatic uterine or kidney cancer. The medication may be used for other purposes. Depo-Provera, like all medications, has possible risks, warnings and side effects associated with its use. The medication is contraindicated in patients that have cancer of the breast or genital organs.
