Can the ground water be used for human consumption?

0

At present over 1% of the UK population uses a private water source for their drinking water. Indeed most of the “mains water” is pumped from underground by the water companies. In all instances the water should be tested prior to consumption, such tests can usually be arranged by the local Environmental Health Department for a nominal sum. In many instances the water is “potable” without treatment due to its long filtration through bedrock and the high pressure that it sustains. Should the water need additional treatment this can typically be done using a filter and ultraviolet sterilisation unit.
