Can the HPV vaccine (cervical cancer injection) cause infertility?
No, it does not. Please urge all of your friends to also get this vaccine. I am only 27 and I just survived stage 2 cervical cancer. It went from being non-existent to stage 2 cancer within 1 year, because pap test was good last year. Mine was a rare type called adenosquamous carcinoma and I was HPV negative but most cervical cancers (more than 90%) are caused by HPV. I am now infertile and in menopause at age 27 due to surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. I lost a bunch of my hair. I worry that my also young boyfriend might leave me one day (even though he swears he would never, and I think he means it) because that means he can’t have kids either. My only option now is adoption, which just isn’t the same. And I have a 30something percent chance of it coming back in the next 5 years.
