CAN THE INSURANCE COMPANIES CHARGE US MORE IF WE HAVE EMPLOYEES WITH HEALTH ISSUES?

A. Yes they can. In the state of Florida insurance companies can add 15% to the rates if there are serious medical issues in the group and that 15% applies to the entire group not just those with health issues. Conversely the companies will generally discount the rates by 10% if the group is healthy But if you think 15% is bad, some states allow the insurance companies to charge uo to 150% more due to medical issues.
