Included in the Pet Door Insert package are the ‘mohair’ weathering strip and rubber weather strip . ‘Mohair’ weather strip inserts into the side channel of the Pet Door Insert and it will prevent draft comming from the gap between the Pet Door Insert and Sliding Door leading edge. With some older sliding doors, we have discovered that leading edge of your sliding door is not parallel with the side of the Pet Door Insert, therefore when you close sliding door there will be a gap either at the top or at the bottom. If the gap is large enough than ‘mohair’ weather strip alone might not prevent the draft. In order to overcome this problem, try adjusting a wheel located at the bottom of your sliding door. Use a screw driver (usually philips head) and screw / unscrew the wheel adjustment screw until you achieve correct alignment of the door.
