Punching a bag will strengthen your chest to an extent. Using the punching bag will also gain you lots of stamina and is a great cardio work out. The best way to increase and strengthen your chest muscles would be some of the following exercises First off bench presses..bench pressing focuses on your chest muscles as well as your triceps and shoulders. Definitely do both incline and decline. I also take 30-40 pound free weights and hold them parallel to my chest and thrust them outwards which is one of my favorite chest exercises. Also Pushups work almost every muscle in the body with an emphasis on the chest and arms. Another great exercise for your chest would be chest flies. lie on a bench with free weights overhead have the palms face in, Lower the weights out to sides with your elbows slightly bent than stop at your shoulder level then bring weights back up over the chest, I have free weights at home and I do this same workout on the carpet and I still feel challenged after a coup
