Can u drink while breastfeeding?

I used to express during the day, then feed Dylan at 7pm and put him to bed. Then I’d have a glass of wine. When he woke for his 11pm feed, he’d have the bottle of expressed milk. Then he wouldn’t need feeding again until about 2am, by which time I knew all the alcohol would be well out of my system from one glass of wine at 7pm. Alcohol doesn’t accumulate in breastmilk, it is metabolised out of it like it is out of the blood. So if you leave a reasonable gap until you are feeding, there is no need to pump and dump. It’s a bit like if you were going to be driving in 6 hours time, you’d know it was ok to have a drink, but if you were going to be driving in an hour you probably wouldn’t.
