Can Underdog Kris Take The Title?
So who will be crowned “American Idol” when all is said and done? My gut tells me it’ll be Adam, but I can’t seem to shake the thought of Kris being the last man standing. Adam is the most talented singer, and I don’t think anyone who has been watching would attempt to argue that point. But Kris is incredibly savvy (I touched on this in last week’s Banter), and nowhere was that more evident than in his cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless.” In that performance, Kris did what every contestant sets out to do at some point: make the song his own. And he did it at the best possible time – a walk-off home run in the eleventh inning. As a self-proclaimed Adam homer, it’s hard to say that I’m openly rooting for Kris to win. Actually, it’s not that difficult because I truly believe that Adam would be better off not getting branded by the “American Idol” cattle prod.
