As long as the person is not harassing other voters, distributing campaign literature, or trying to motivate people to vote a certain way, T-shirts, buttons, hats and other materials are allowed inside polling areas. If someone wearing a candidate’s T-shirt is belligerently asking for support or tries to persuade people with their shirt, they will be disciplined or removed. There is a “buffer zone” around polling places in which campaign representatives are not allowed. It is common for local candidates to wait outside polling places’ buffer zones to talk to voters and ask for their votes.
