CAN WALKERS PARTICIPATE IN EITHER THE MARATHON OR HALF MARATHON?

0

Yes, walkers are welcome in either event. However, all participants must complete the race within 6.5 hours. To complete the full marathon by 1:30pm, you must maintain a pace of 14 minutes per mile (or faster). Participants in the full marathon who have not reached Lake Merced by 12:00pm will be turned around, but will be allowed to complete the rest of the course. Walkers who are not on pace to complete the event before the course closes at 1:30pm will be picked up and transported to the finish by our SAG (Support and Gear) buses.
