Can WattPlot control my Mate remotely?
The greenMonitor Renewable Energy System monitoring software from greenHouse Computers includes automatic command responses to system events as a standard feature in product’s Basic Edition. All of the standard OutBack Power Technologies Mate commands are supported, as well as the advanced commands which can be used to read and write settings directly from the Mate display controller. With greenMonitor Industrial Edition you can dynamically change inverter settings, such as the sell voltage, transfer times, input limits, and many other inverter features features. WattPlot doesn’t offer the ability to reprogram your OutBack Power Technologies inverters in any product level at any price.
There is also no need for expensive software upgrades in order to use the basic automatic command response system feature. Automatic command response is available in our Basic Edition priced at US$75, compared to WattPlot PRO which is priced at US$150. More features, better price.
And unlike WattPlot PRO, the greenMonitor software "synchronizes" the command output to the Mate input so that only a single command request needs to be made. The result is more reliable command execution and fewer missed data records caused by sending a command multiple times.
The OutBack MATE supports a very limited command set for controlling your system by computer. WattPlot supports the full capability offered, both through the Monitor program and the Remote program: Switch FX On, Go into Search mode, Switch FX Off, Use AC Input, Drop AC Input, Turn Aux On, and Turn Aux Off. MATE command reception and processing is not an exact science – WattPlot will repeat the command until it has confirmed that the command was received and executed. WattPlot PRO can automatically send MATE commands, either scheduled or in response to system events.
