A private waste collection company, Urban Services, holds the contract for trash collection at the hundreds of buildings and facilities within the city limits that are owned or operated by District government agencies. Urban Services is a locally owned and operated business, which receives full preference under the Minority Business Opportunity Commission (MBOC) guidelines. The DC Office of Property Management (OPM) administers the contract. Each agency monitors trash collection at its own facilities and is responsible for monthly invoice payment directly to the contractor.
