Can women who have sex with women get HIV or another Sexually Transmitted Infection?
Yes, but this is not the most common way HIV is passed on from person to person. Remember, its not about who you are. Its what you do that can put you at risk for HIV or another sexually transmitted infection. Women who have sex with women may have oral sex, share sex toys, or touch their sex partners genitals. You can get HIV from doing these activities with a person who has HIV. Women who have sex with women may get HIV by having sex with anyone who has HIV (or by sharing any kind of needles).
