First, professors and tutors will have a much better idea of how to help you do well in math and overcome issues; and second, you will become protected by certain laws (I am guessing you are British because you said “primary school,” and the UK has excellent disability protection laws). Without being tested, you may indeed have a disability, but nobody will be able to tell the difference between that and whether you are just not good at maths or have never paid attention in class. Your remedial teachers will not have the information needed to teach you, and you will not be protected by law.
