The following definitions would generally apply to these terms in the jewelry trade: Georgian: Referring to jewelry produced during the time of the reign of the four King Georges of England, 1720-1820. Usually, but not always, refers to English jewelry. Victorian: Referring to jewelry produced during the reign of Queen Victoria of England, 1837-1901. Does not imply that the jewelry is English. Art Nouveau: A style of jewelry produced mainly from 1890-1915. It typically has flowing lines and highly stylized depiction's of floral motifs, beautiful women, and fantasy creations inspired by nature. Edwardian: A style of jewelry popular from 1905-1920, incorporating finely detailed work in platinum and diamonds with delicate design elements. Art Deco: Inspired by the French "Art Decoratif" movement, from the 1920's and 30's. Bold and modernistic designs utilizing sharp lines, and striking color combinations.
