This is a very important concept. Videos can be duplicated at three different Modes or speeds: SP Mode (2 hrs), LP Mode (4 hrs), or SLP/EP Mode (6 hrs). The speed refers to the length of time it takes the VCR to play/record the contents of an entire videocassette (from start to finish). Generally the faster the speed, the better the quality of the video (thus videos are generally recorded/duplicated in SP Mode). Having said that, ultimately the best quality comes from dubbing a video at the same speed the original was recorded in. To ensure we give our customers the highest quality Videos possible, we copy most of our Videos in the Mode the original was recorded in. For 90% of our videos this happens to be SP Mode. Some of our videos are also dubbed in LP Mode (4 hrs) (usually those longer than 2 hours) and will thus be recorded in that mode for highest possible quality.
