Can you extract some oil from pandan flavoring?

0

If this pandan flavoring is an extract in ethanol, you could let the alcohol evaporate, and a small amount of oil will probably remain. If the extraction was done using vegetable oil or something else nonvolatile as the solvent, this will not work. It is possible even that the flavoring could be synthetic – it will still contain the main compound, but will not have others, and therefore may not work for what you need. I could not find any pandan essential oil for sale online… For what it’s worth, some info on the compound responsible for the flavor is given below.
