The audio out jack is best but if you don’t have one use the headphone jack. Cables are easily available with a 3.5mm standard headphone jack on one end and phono plug (RCA) connectors or 5-pin DIN connectors on the other. The music system you sold would have been very suitable for what you have in mind. It has enough inputs on the back to do lots of stuff with, and the output is powerful enough to have the neighbours complaining. What more could you need,haha? My desktop has a cable into an Audio Research HiFi amp with 60 Watts per channel of audio heaven. When the neighbours out out I can use the big Monitor Gold speakers or the Tannoys or my Wharfedale Dittons or Lintons which are normally on a Quad 44/405 pre/main amp combination.
