If you think “Malaysia” instead of “Borneo”, the situation becomes less life threatening …. it is most probably safer then the outback of Australia….you certainly can get malaria, or other moquito borne diseases….so it is advisable to get some anti-malariatablets if you go to the jungle areas …and as for accidents, that can happen anywhere, ….
