Can you make creamed corn from tinned sweetcorn?

I take the corn and cook it slowly then add (this is for ONE tin of sweet-corn) 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 1 Tablespoon butter, and (depending on how thick you want it) 1 Tablespoon of Corn Starch (you can also use flour, but corn starch tastes better in this recipe) dissolve the cornstarch in water and pour it in slowly as the corn is simmering, slowly stir in the cream and finally add the butter. Serve warm because if you let this recipe sit for a while it will get thicker.
