Can you put a subheading “prefix” in a chapter entitled introduction?

You can have the Prefix section BEFORE your first chapter, a lot of books have this, and it is quite common. For the rest of your chapter, or anywhere else in your book, you can show a break in a chapter, scene or idea by using a sort of symbol, and missing a few lines: Jack and Jill walked up a hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after. *** (can be any symbol) *** Jack had to go to the hospital, but he is ok now. I hope this helps.
