Terrazzo floors begin as small pieces of granite, marble and stone placed in a bed of mortar. Once the mortar dries, the top surface is ground smooth and polished to a high sheen. Terrazzo easily stands up to regular wear and tear, but because the mortar bed is porous, it does require protection from stains. While you absolutely can spray and buff Terrazzo floors, there are some important steps to take before doing so.
