Can you take penicillin with an augmentin allergy?

0

Augmentin is a mix of amoxicillin and Clavulanate. Amoxicillin is a form of penicillin. Clavulanate is a medication that makes the amoxicillin a little more effective. In theory you could be allergic to either component, but it is more likely that you are allergic to penicillin. Almost everyone would assume it was the penicillin. You don’t need to worry about getting the Clavulanate elsewhere, if that was what you were actually allergic to. It is almost never used elsewhere.
