Can you tell me the Canadian government leaders and party informations please?
Our current office government is the Conservative Party of Canada. They hold a minority governement. They won only 40% (or so) of the popular vote, but the other 60% (or so) was redistributed between the New Democratic Party and the Liberal Party. Its sad, but our government only represents 40% or so of Canadians. The CP emerged after a near death experience in 1993, when the Reform party went its own way, and the Bloc Quebecois emerged in Quebec as the dominant party alongside the liberals. Stephen Harper is our current prime minister, and faces the opposition leader Michael Ignatieff. They almost formed a coalition government (NDP, Liberal, BQ) and went to houst our PM out of his office, but he ran to the Governor General and got her to prorogue parliament which saved his skin. He blamed it on seperatists trying to disintegrate Canada (even though the is the BQ’s main raison d’etre) which was truly false in the long run, and the coalition would have been much better for the majority
