Yes you can tint with Kool Aid; I have even dyed a white tee shirt pink with red Kool Aid. and a lavender one with Grape. Why worry about ants? The sugar dissolves anyway. Just think of spilling Kool Aid on a carpet, and how hard it is to get out. I*m assuming you have lots of old Kool Aid on hand and do not want the hassle of going to the store to have something tinted. Hope this answered your question.
