Can you use 9.3x74R ammunition in a 38-72 caliber Winchester Model 1895?
No. It MIGHT go in the chamber since most measurements are only a few one-thousandths different, but the European case is about 1/3 inch longer and the overall cartridge is more than half an inch longer. From the loading data in Cartridges of the World, it looks like the 9.3x74R packs almost twice as much power and may tear the old Winchester apart if you managed to fire it.
