Can you use gas in a garden sprayer?

Yes, it will not hurt a decent quality garden sprayer (at least it shouldnt) but there are a lot of safety issues. A group of teenagers ended up in the hospital burn unit after playing around with one of the teens fathers insecticide sprayer full of gasoline for a july4 project. The video was taken off youtube. It wasnt pretty. The heat made the handle too hot to hold and the sprayer had a hold button to keep the flow on. The teen had to drop the handle and the hose caused it to twist backwards – spraying 3 or 4 of the kids with a stream of fire that looked like a flame thrower.
