Can you use Perko-Powermatic with concealed hinges such as Soss or Simonswerk Tectus?
We have successfully specified many situations where the Simonswerk TECTUS® Hinge was used in conjunction with Perkomatic closers.
Some perks for using these excellent closers:
- UL Listed (UL 228, UL 10B & UL10C approved) and ADA compatible. Tectus Hinges (TE 340 3D, TE 540 3D, TE 640 3D, TE 525 3D) are UL Listed as well.
- adjustable closing speed and latching action.
- fits a minimum 1-3/4" thick door.
- comes with a reassuring 10 year warranty.
Be aware when using these with the 3-D adjustable TECTUS® hinges:
- the opening angle is limited to 105°.
- the door is still adjustable in depth and side to side, but will be limited to +/-1mm in the height adjustment (vs. the standard +/-3mm)
- a min. 2 1/8" thick door may be required to meet ANSI 156.4. To comply with the forces in ANSI 156.4 using concealed hinges, Samuel Heath & Sons recommend fitting the R102 closer at 35mm (1-3/8") from the theoretical pivot point* – not the visible pivot – of the hinge mechanism.
