Clearly the issues selected by MACCA may not be considered the most important issues facing Muslims in the world. Why does MACCA focus on these issues at this time?
Some of the issues that MACCA works on affect Millions of people around the world. And indeed, these issues are very relevant to Muslims around the world. Globalization, for instance, is a real problem for Third World countries. And many of these countries have a majority Muslim population. The livestock feed issue is also very relevant to Muslims. It is a real problem around the world. MACCA strongly believes that Muslims are being offered commercial animal products that do not meet the Islamic standards. And this again affects tens, if not hundreds, of millions, of Muslims around the world. The double standard in tobacco marketing that is supported by the US government and the American-based trans-national corporations also affects Millions of Muslims around the world. But none of these issues are exclusive to Muslims. Other people around the world are affected by these issues. And that’s in line with MACCA’s mission statement.
