This is a good one. Does the existence of a past relationship imply a solicitation of future promotional material by email? Various online shops have dipped their toes into this water and some have jumped straight in, but the consensus of opinion on this newsgroup is that it is spam… _unless_ the online shop made it clear to you at the time they acquired your email address that you would receive such promotional material.
