I’d love to speak with your mechanic about Nissan heater cores in particular or any other cores in any brand of car or truck. Down through the years we have replaced several rusted heater-cores where coolant couldn’t pass from the entrance to the exit fitting. None of the engines have ever overheated because of a blocked heater core. If your heater inside the car *IS blasting hot air, there’s nothing wrong with the heater core at all. If you do not get heat out of the heater, the core is plugged but *is and does not account for the engine overheating. You have a cooling system that need to be drained flushed and cleaned with one part acid if it’s dirty. Secondly you should have a *cooling system pressure test done to see if you have any external or internal coolant leaks. If you have a car that’s over 10 years old and the cooling system care schedule hasn’t been on schedule you likely need a new radiator but still have the engine cleaned with a one part acid cleaner to dissolve the rus
