Could a floating parking garage help Pensacola Beach parking?
A Gulf Breeze Naval architect wants to construct a floating parking garage that would give the parking problem on Pensacola Beach some relief. The parking garage would be built on old barges that could easily be relocated to other areas in need of extra parking by the water. The floating parking garage would offer 600 new spaces. The cost of the project would cost between $4.8 and $7.2 million. A new ordinance was passed on Panama City Beach. Both businesses and homes along the beach in Bay County will have 3 and a half years to install sea turtle friendly lights on their property. Bright lights on the beach disorient baby sea turtles after they hatch and cause them to move toward the lights instead of the water.
