Could teleporters replace showers by beaming away every molecule of dirt, bacteria, etc. from your body?

No doubt that would be a highly useful function. It’s a great idea. Teleporters could become the primary choice for getting dirt, germs, and bad bacteria off one’s body. But unless a teleporter could duplicate the absolutely awesome feeling of a hot shower, or even a cold one sometimes, then people will still want showers. Speaking just for myself, I’d miss the smell of the lathery soap and how if I stand at just the right angle, the water briefly stops up my ears and then inside my head, I can hear something that sounds just like a heavy rain storm when the drops hit the roof of a cabin. So I get a lot more out of showers than just getting squeaky clean. And if showers were gone, some folks wouldn’t have any place to sing, except in public. Now, there’s an appealing idea! Even so, showers won’t be replaced; showers and teleporters will simply co-exist. Great question, by the way.
