Could the soil-nickel intervention level for human health change in the future?
The ministry’s Soil Investigation and Human Health Risk Assessment Report for the Rodney Street Community, Port Colborne: March 2002 report sets a nickel-intervention level that is based on the most recent and best science and that has been reviewed and supported by an international panel of experts. As significant new science becomes available, it will be assessed, which could result in a change of the intervention level. This new science may include any findings from the health studies currently under way in Port Colborne.
