In addition to the fact the entire food chain will break down, the atmosphere will freeze and fall to the ground. No breathable air, no protection from cosmic rays, no protection from the freezing cold of space. No food, no air, no life. No technology could overcome that, not even science fiction, because without a sun, the amount of *fuel* required to power such a technology simply ceases to exist (and we don’t have it anyways). There’s not enough energy reserves on the planet to stave off the inevitable for more than a few days even assuming some sort of Star Wars level of technology. You may have isolated pockets of survivors able to cling on for a short while due to stores of processed foods and obtaining oxygen by boiling some of the frozen stuff, but there’d be no way to restart the food chain.
