Crate Training a Puppy – How is This Done?
Puppies are so much fun, especially after they lose those pesky teeth at around 4 months that always seem to get snagged on something… like your favorite shirt or your fingers. But from the get go, a puppy needs protection from his over-exuberant need to chew on things. This brings us to crate training a puppy. A crate can keep a puppy safe when you can’t be around, plus it can be his comforting lair when he needs to get away from his busy world and take a nap. First off, you need to get a crate that’s the right size for your puppy. If he still has some growing to do and you only want to get the size crate he’ll need as an adult dog, then by all means get it with removable partitions. This will make the crate space big enough so he can stand up and turn around, but small enough so he can’t comfortably soil it at one end and live at the other.
