Cruise Control malfunction on my 2000 Honda Accord?

I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX with a cruise control malfunction. The “Cruise Control” display is ON in the dashboard, but the control is not locking (mechanically it’s not working). I took the car to the dealership and they told it’s something to do with a broken throttle box (nothing wrong with the throttle though). Cost $$500!!! Can somebody help me figure out what it is and how to fix it? Thanks in advance. A: a dealer doens’t generally try to tell you things that need to be replaced when they don’t…. because for the most part they are servicing a warranty, they don’t have the same motivations a regular mechanic shop does… so if they told you that’s what you need to do to replace it, then that’s what you need to do, and all you can do (likely… i’m sure there’s a few instances where this won’t apply, but i garuntee for the most part it will….
