Curing ear infections with tubes – is it really the best way?
Here’s a topic that always seems to stir up a debate whether you want to or not. Many people always seem to think they have the right to tell you what is best for your child and what a monster you are if you choose to place tubes in your child’s ears. They act like the decision was made on a whim without thought, discussion or research. I can tell you from personal experience it isn’t an easy decision and the decision can only be made by mom and dad with the child’s best interest in mind. I have four children and two of them inherited my ears (or at least the inner ear part). As a baby and small child I had chronic painful ear infections. Back in the 60s they didn’t do ear tubes that often so I just had to suffer. My oldest girl and boy both suffered from chronic ear infections. I’m not talking about an ear infection every month or two that goes away with the first low grade antibiotic the doctor prescribes.
