Did a devil bear kill 12 lambs?
Nicknamed the devil bear, the wolverine has 38 fearsome teeth and, on each paw, five razor-sharp claws. Its strong jaws and powerful neck enable it to break bones with ease. And, police fear, it is on the loose in County Durham after farmer Andrew Spence found 12 of his lambs killed in horrific circumstances. He thought it was possibly the work of the so- called Durham Puma, which is said to roam the region. But police expert Eddie Bell believes a wolverine could have arrived on a container ship from northern Europe and is warning the public to take no chances. ‘Back off’ “I’d advise anyone coming across one of these creatures to back off and get away as soon as possible,” he said.
