Did an earth tremor just happen or did I get an electric shock?
Google Earth did not record an earthquake in your area in the last five minutes. So we can rule that out. You have an airport nearby, but civilian airplanes don’t cause those kinds of vibrations. Electric shocks will last as long as you maintain contact with the source of the shock. I presume it took longer than 2 seconds for you to close your laptop and get out of bed. All laptops I know of are plastic cased and will not conduct electricity. Therefore, in my analysis of your event, I believe the 2 seconds of heat and vibrations, in my experience, is caused by flatulence followed by a strong odor of methane gas.
