She had to change the line “Kiss me like you mean it” to “Hold me like you mean it” but here is what demi says about her songs ans songwriting: Lovato has said that she writes very dark music, such as “Shadow,” “Open,” “Trash,” and “Stronger.” That is why she asked the Jonas Brothers to help her write her new material for the album. She told J-14 Magazine: “I’m more of a writer whose stuff wouldn’t make it on a Disney album. It’s too dark. My mom’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, go to therapy.’ So I came to (the Jonas Brothers) and I was like, ‘Ummmm … I need help writing catchy stuff just because, well, my target audience isn’t into metal music.
