Did Dixie Carter Die of Endometrial Cancer? Sunday April 11, 2010 I was deeply saddened and shocked when I heard that Dixie Carter had died over the weekend. My mother was a faithful Designing Women fan and the lives of Julia Sugarbaker and company were a staple in our weekly TV lineup. Just recently, she had a role on Desperate Housewives and looked as fantastic as ever. You can see how her passing has many of us confused, especially since her husband has remained private about the details, which hopefully will be respected. The Associated Press, however, released a report claiming that Dixie Carter died from endometrial cancer in Houston. Little information has been released, other than the AP stating she died from complications relating to endometrial cancer. If true, Dixie Carter was just one of over 7,000 women who will succumb to endometrial cancer this year.
