Domestic Challenges: • Establishing and overseeing our critical government structures, including the separation of executive and legislative powers, the creation of the Cabinet, creating of the Judicial branch, the Supreme Court, district courts, and the Bill of Rights. Not too bad a list of achievements. • Confronted a major war with 7 Native American tribes–the Shawnee, Miami, Ottawa, Chippewa, Iroquois, Sauk, and Fox–at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, near modern day Toledo • Severe financial problems surrounding the raising of revenue to retire debts from the War of Independence. • The Whiskey Rebellion over the tax on liquor developed by Hamilton. He enlisted Federal troops from various states to put down a rebellion in Pennsylvania • Etc.
